About Us

Hello, my name is Crysta Barton.

I have had a love for makeup since I was 12 years old, and I have been applying makeup for theatre, painting faces, performing at parties and other events for years.  I have been involved in community and church theater. I work as a makeup artist at Lagoon during Frightmares. I’ve been doing this since 2001 and in 2013 I am their most tenured makeup artist. I have also painted for West Bountiful City for their 4th of July Celebration, Clinton City for their Kids in the Park Event, Kaysville City for their Daddy Daughter Dance and Arts Festival events, The Salt Lake City Greek Festival, Davis Conference Center Breakfast with Santa event, and many birthday parties. I have 800+ hrs. of professional makeup artistry / face painting in Utah. Recently I have started working on Zombie movies and commercials!!!
I have also been hired to paint professionally for Face painting Illusions and Balloon Art at the First Night at Provo Towne Center, Salt Lake City's Days of '47 Kids Parade, at This is the Place Monument for the Digger's Schindig by RioTinto, and for Usanna at Lagoon. Thank you Emily for letting me continue to work with you and being a mentor to me.

I started off my face painting career at Hardees as their party coordinator/birthday clown in May of 1992 through October of 1994. I attended the Clown College of Utah in the summer of 1993 at the Salt Lake City Children's Museum, where I learned tips and tricks of the trade. I wanted to be a party coordinator but I did not know where to go to get started. I have also had a love for the theater my whole life. My Mother would help with local community theaters I would help with costumes and be there through all the rehearsals. When I was 5, I started being in the productions and learning even more about theater.  I was an assistant director for 2 years from 1993-1994 while attending Viewmont High School. I graduated with honors in theater and a scholarship to the Actors Academy of Utah. After high school I started to run my own little theatrical group, Realms of Reality, for 3 years. I still keep busy by being a part of any theatrical event I can get into, ether acting or make-up. In March 2012 I was the co-director and technical director of the West Bountiful Elementary School Play, "Pirates the Musical". In 2013 I was an assitant director and technical director and did the makeup for "Jungle Book Jr". This year, 2014, I'm the assitant director on "We Are Monsters".  I hope to keep having fun with life in all I do. I recently have started to do full body painting as well.
